Ten Myrtle Beach Wedding Ideas That Will Blow Your Guests Away

Classic seersucker is so very Southern and just perfect for a wedding at the beach. Look for seersucker suits for your groom and his men or find a dress for your gals that they could easily wear again. Got a larger budget? Look into linens for your tables to tie it all together. Southern touches seem to be a theme this year and they're perfect for a wedding in Myrtle Beach. Use customizable mason jars as drinking glasses or dye them to match your decor and use them for centerpieces or flower vases along your altars. We're at the beach so use the water to your advantage. Fill up vases for your centerpiece (you probably don't want ocean water for this) and add floating candles, goldfish or submerged flowers. Colored stones or beads would look great and add a touch of your signature color to your decor. I've also read about doing a Water Ceremony during the wedding where each person pours in a different color to create a new color specific to them.

Break the norm and give your guests something they'll actually use. Just because it came from your wedding doesn't mean they want it (no offense, y'all!) I went to a late summer wedding recently and got to make my own s'mores! Favors I've kept around are mini-bottles of Firefly Sweet Tea flavored vodka, drink coasters, custom Koozies and local salt water taffy. Ride to the ceremony location on a golf cart with your dad or make it your getaway car at the end of the night. Some recent ones we've seen include shots along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk with the arcade and Skywheel, landmarks along Main Street in North Myrtle Beach and Huntington Beach State Park. Have some fun with props like beach balls and sunglasses or opt for a “Trash the Dress” session in the ocean! Another cool way to use photos is to find numbers around town, frame them and Voila! you have customized table numbers.

Everyone has opinions on “appropriate” wedding colors based on the season, venue, time of day, etc. Those people can deal with it because this is the time to go crazy! Do you love lime green? There's no rule that you have to serve one fish, one chicken and one steak dish. Spice things up and impress your guests with a very unconventional menu.
