Radical Ropes Adventure Park now open in Myrtle Beach

Expanding the never-ending array of exciting things to do in Myrtle Beach, Radical Ropes Adventure Park opened for business recently at 301 19th Ave. S. in Myrtle Beach.

This one-of-a-kind attraction is the latest zipline and ropes course to come to the Grand Strand and offers a slightly different experience than already established options such as Myrtle Beach Zipline Adventures in downtown Myrtle Beach, Go Ape Treetop Adventure in North Myrtle Beach and Soar + Explore Zipline at Broadway at the Beach.

Situated on a five-acre forest just blocks from the ocean, this state-of-the-art aerial adventure park spans across many canopy-topped trees with lots of thrilling challenges for all ages.

In addition to eight ziplines that takes visitors around the property, Radical Ropes also offers an ropes course with 72 different obstacles to traverse, a 60-ft. tall climbing wall, a free fall drop experience and Kidzipz for the younger crowd.

“The Aerial Adventure park is really fun. There are lots of things to climb on, pull on,” said Judson Fields, the park’s general manager. “There's three different levels, each increasing in difficulty as you go up.”

Though visitors start at moderate heights, by the third level the action takes place at heights up to 70 feet up in the air — a thrilling experience for even the most daring guests. But there's no need to worry about the heights as expert ropes guides lead you through each adventure and extreme safety measures are taken to ensure all visitors have a safe and fun experience.

While the park is challenging there are obstacle of all types so that visitors of any skill level can come out and give it their best shot. Some activities in the aerial adventure park are group oriented, perfect for bringing out the family, a youth group , office buddies, or whoever you may want to share the experience with.

The the main course has an age requirement of 10 years old, there is also a Kidzips course that is meant for those younger than 10. Similar in style, yet not so high off the ground, this adventure will leave younger thrill seekers begging for more.

And the fun isn’t over there, Radical Ropes even has a free-fall leap of faith from a 70 ft high platform. You will be belayed down by trained guides to a safe landing. You just have to overcome your fears and take the leap!

If you’d like to try it for yourself, tickets to the Adventure Park are $49 for adults, $42 for children ages 11-17 and $32 for ages 7-10 (must be accompanied by an adult). The extreme zips zipline course is $49 for adults and $42 for ages 10-17.

You can also purchase separate passes for the climbing wall for $19 that include three climbs up the wall or three leaps (or a combination of the two).
