The Myrtle Beach Airport offers the lowest airfare rates in South Carolina, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

If you're looking for a bargain flight to South Carolina, the Myrtle Beach Airport is probably your best bet. 

The Myrtle Beach International Airport had the lowest domestic airfare in the state for the third quarter of 2014, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. The average airfare for Myrtle Beach was $228, besting Charleston ($400) and Florence ($411) for the lowest rates. Columbia had the highest rate in the state ($501.06). 

“Ensuring affordable transportation and providing quick and easy access is paramount to attracting new visitors to the Myrtle Beach area,” said Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. “We’re pleased that our airline partners continue to provide our visitors and residents with non-stop flights and low-fare options.”

The Myrtle Beach Airport offers direct flights between many key travel markets and Myrtle Beach, including Boston; New York – La Guardia; Newark, N.J.; Columbus, Ohio; and Detroit. The airport was renovated with the addition of a new terminal in 2013.
