Events Rundown: March 5-11, 2013
There are lots of folks in town to celebrate the 52nd annual Canadian-American Days Festival, Big South Conference Championships and more. If you’re looking for something to do in Myrtle Beach this list will help you get started. Visit our events page for a complete list of things going on.
Basketball fans can catch plenty of live games in Myrtle Beach during the Big South Conference Championships. Games are scheduled from March 5-10 at the HTC Center. Semi-finals begin at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 9 and the championship game will be played at 12 p.m. Sunday, March 10.
Locals and visitors flock to the Alabama Theatre to see ONE: The New Show year after year. The show offers something for all ages and features new content for 2013. Experience an evening of comedy, song, dance and fun. The costume changes and special effects add an extra flare to each song and dance number. ONE: The New Show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The town of Surfside Beach is hosting a BBQ Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 9 on Surfside Drive. They’ll have free inflatables for the kids, local arts and crafts vendors and of course, lots of yummy food. Sawgrass and the Josh Brannon Band will perform live at the event. Proceeds benefit SAFER.
The 52nd annual Canadian-American Days Festival and Celebration will be held from March 9-16. There will be celebrations on the north and south strand, a free concert, expo and more. Click here for a complete list of Can-Am events and celebrations in Myrtle Beach.
The Long Bay Symphony presents “Romantic Blockbusters.” Sebastian Baverstam will be featured on the cello. Works from Rossini, Saint-Saens and Brahms will be performed. Local composer and CCU faculty member, Donald Sloan, will premiere his brand new commission during the event. The concert will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 10 at the Myrtle Beach High School Music and Arts Center.
Hot Jersey Nights is the newest show to hit the Palace Theatre in Myrtle Beach. The show celebrates the music of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons with performances of “Sherry,” “Let’s Hang On,” “Bye Bye Baby” and many more. The authentic costumes add to the magic of each performance. Hot Jersey Nights will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. Wednesday and 2 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
