Happy New Year from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. 2012 is already shaping up to be an exciting year with tons of great events, shows, festivals and fun. Check out this list of events going on this week along the Grand Strand.

A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline

Gail Bliss stars in A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline at the Alabama Theatre this weekend. She’ll perform twenty of Cline’s best-known songs accompanied by a live band. Catch the closest thing to the real deal right here on the Grand Strand. The show will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Ticket prices start at $29.95.

Tommy Blaze at Comedy Cabana

Comic Tommy Blaze will perform at Comedy Cabana, Myrtle Beach’s only five-star comedy club. Blaze has starred on shows like “Friend’s” and “The Newz” as well as dozens of TV and movie appearances. The comedian will perform at 8 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. this Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $15.

Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Make your reservations for the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at Brookgreen Gardens. Sip on a variety of specialty teas and enjoy a luncheon. Remember to come dressed in your favorite Sunday hat! The Mad Hatters Tea Party will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the Holiday Cottage at Brookgreen Gardens. Reservations are required.

Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland

This is the last week to experience Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland. This drive-through LED light and music show is the only one of its kind in Myrtle Beach. You’ll be amazed as each light is perfectly timed to the holiday hits of the season. The show also offers camel rides, kettle corn and more. Shadrack’s is open daily at 6 p.m. through Sunday.

2012 ADDY Award Call for Entries

It’s time again for the annual ADDY Award Call for Entries. The ADDY Awards honor excellence in advertising and you’re invited to submit your creative work now. The awards recognize the best in all types of advertising and media. All entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 17.
