Coastal Uncorked Unveils 2012 Festival Schedule

This is the third year for Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine & Spirits Festival in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine and Spirits Festival revealed its 2012 schedule, with one notable exception- the popular Tasting Trolley. Events slated for this year include a restaurant week, beer and wine dinners, tasting tents, a tasting finale and more.

An Oyster Roast at the Sea Captain’s House will kick-off the festival’s third year on the Grand Strand. The Oyster Roast will feature live music in addition to wines and spirits samples and oyster dishes. Tickets are $25.

The main events will be held April 26-28, 2012 at The Market Common and Ocean Boulevard. The Market Common will host “Sip, Savor & Stroll” Thursday, April 26 where guests can sample food and wine from restaurants in the complex for $10. Friday and Saturday, tickets can be purchased for the “Oceanfront Grand Tasting Tents.” Tents with food, wine and spirits samples will be set up on Ocean Boulevard between 8th and 9th Avenues North in Myrtle Beach. There will be three tasting sessions at the tents and tickets are $30 per session.

“The Chef’s Challenge and Tasting Finale” will wrap up the week’s events with local chefs battling to create the ultimate treats for attendees. Live entertainment and, of course, wine and spirits will be available at the finale. Tickets start at $50 for the event. Combination tickets that include admission to all three tasting sessions in the oceanfront tent and a seat at the finale are available in limited quantities for $100 per person.

Other events include various “Wine Dinners” and “Beer Dinners” throughout the week at participating restaurants. They’ll create dinner menus with various wines and beers served during each course. Tickets will go on sale at the end of January.

Three course tasting menus will be offered at local restaurants participating in the festival for $20.12.
