Carolina Country Music Festival adds kickoff concert featuring Sam Hunt

One of the biggest events in Myrtle Beach this summer just got a bit bigger.

The Carolina Country Music Festival, a 3-day beachfront concert featuring acts like Lady Antebellum, Eric Church and Rascal Flatts, announced today that it will add a fourth day of music.

The Carolina Country Music Festival Kickoff Concert will take place on Thursday, June 4, and will feature one of the fastest-rising stars in country music today, Sam Hunt.

No stranger to the Grand Strand, the performance will be Hunt's third in the Myrtle Beach area since last year, including a show at the Boathouse last July and a headlining spot at the House of Blues in February.

Known for hits like “Take Your Time,” “Leave The Night On” and “Ex To See,” Hunt has been touring non-stop since the release of his Billboard-topping album “Montevallo” in October.

Currently in the midst of his “Lipstick Graffiti” Tour, Hunt had originally been announced as part of the CCMF lineup, but a scheduling conflict prevented him from performing during the June 5-7 festival — which will take place downtown on the former Pavilion site.

“There was a scheduling conflict and Sam Hunt's folks have been diligently working with us in every way possible so his fans are not disappointed,” said an official from Full House Productions, who is putting on the event. “The solution was an extra night of country music!”

The kickoff concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $39 each, however the show will be free to those who have already purchased 3-day passes and those who buy them before April 25. The passes are $189 each and VIP packages are also available for $299 and $999.
