The Grand Strand of Myrtle Beach

Collectively known as the Grand Strand, the Myrtle Beach area stretches 60 miles along the South Carolina coast. Check out these exciting areas of the Grand Strand. 

Myrtle Beach | Myrtle Beach is the heart of the Grand Strand. It includes many of the area’s major attractions, including The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, the Family Kingdom Amusement Park, Myrtle Waves waterpark, The Carolina Opry and The Market Common. Dozens of hotels, resorts and vacation rentals call Myrtle Beach home. 

North Myrtle Beach | North Myrtle Beach is located directly to the north of Myrtle Beach. Barefoot Landing, the House of Blues and the historic O.D. Pavilion are all located in North Myrtle Beach. A myriad oceanfront hotels and condos line Ocean Boulevard in North Myrtle Beach. Main Street is home to many attractions, shops and restaurants. Also located in the northern part of the Grand Strand are Atlantic Beach, Crescent, Cherry Grove and Little River, home of the annual Blue Crab Festival. 

South Strand | Just to the south of Myrtle Beach are several laid-back beach communities. vacation homes and rentals feature prominently along with a few smaller hotels in the Surfside Beach, Garden City Beach and Murrells Inlet areas. Check out the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk for fresh seafood and live entertainment year-round. Wild Water and Wheels in Surfside offers all-day thrills and spills for the whole family. 

Litchfield and Pawleys Island | Even farther south are the upscale Litchfield and Pawleys Island communities. These “shabby chic” communities are home to great shopping, dining and golf options as well as vacation rentals.
